We are dismissing 2.5 hours early (1:10 pm) on Thursday 9/13 and closed on Friday 9/14. After school care is cancelled Thursday. Please make sure your child knows how he or she is going home on Thursday! If they are unsure, we will send them home the usual way. You are welcome to send in a note, jot it on your child's HW calendar or email me as well.
*Parent Night for Grades 3-5 is rescheduled for Tuesday, September 25th. Regular classroom sessions will take place from 6:05-6:30 and 6:35-7:00. We hope you can join us.
Homework for this week will be due when we return next week. I would, however, recommend students complete the MATH study guide/practice test at home on Wednesday after we go over multiples and prime/composite numbers in class on Wednesday. Then, they may use the answer key to check it over with you at home (please!). This will help prepare them for the quiz the following day on Thursday. Don't forget to do 90 minutes of reading during the week! Friday is a great day to be reading as well, and if you have a powered-up device...have your child work on Prodigy and check out some of the Factors & multiples and Prime & Composite games on my math page of our website.
As a reminder, the HW that students are to do weekly is on their calendar in their SAIL folder which goes home with them daily. Binders can stay at school! This lessens the load in their backpacks! Google forms are posted on Google Classroom (paper copies available for those that can't access a device). We are encouraging students to take responsibility with spacing out their homework, with your help, based on their schedules. We encourage them to be responsible for completing homework, writing it down on their calendar and showing you and asking you to sign the calendar each Thursday.
Thank you for your continued support as we get into a routine!
