About Mrs. Sovereign
Hello parents and students! My name is Jenny Sovereign. I am so excited for the 2019-2020 school year! Let me tell you about myself!
I grew up with my parents and three siblings in the suburbs of Chicago. It was in second grade that I decided I wanted to be a teacher, as I always enjoyed school, loved my teachers, and even played school in my "classroom" in my basement! :) My desire to teach never faded and I attended Illinois State University. Upon completing my degree, I moved down to North Carolina, where my sister had just moved to, and I began teaching at Weatherstone in 2001. Two years later my parents and other siblings relocated to NC so we are all here now!
My husband Eric and I have been married for fourteen years. He is an Appalachian State Alumni and a huge sports fan. I have two sweet boys, Luke and Nathan. Luke is 11 and is in sixth grade this year. He loves reading, playing soccer and video games. Nathan is 8 and loves soccer, playing cards, board games and Legos. As for me, my favorite things to do are playing with my boys, relaxing at the pool and beach during summers, going for walks year round and camping with my family.
I love teaching! This is my 19th year Teaching here at Weatherstone! It has been a great experience and I am happy to call it my home away from home! I am looking forward to a great year with my new students. It is my goal to keep learning fun and interesting, to stay positive and encourage each student to do their best. The quickest way to communicate with me is through email at [email protected]. I look forward to working with you, as a team, to make it a successful fourth grade year for your child!
